Birthday: 10/27/09
At 1 day old, she had visits from Dad, big brother Gavin & Grandma & Grandpa Gibson, along with the hospital photographer, hearing screener and countless nurses.
At 2 days old she got to come home!

At 3 days old, she just relaxed and got to see her home for the first time.

4 days old was Halloween - she was a pumpkin.

At 5 days old, November 1, she tried out her swing

At 6 days old she had her first outing, to the pediatrician's office for a check-up--she checked out just fine--Dr. Bakerink recommended some time in the sun for slight jaundice.
Whenever we've put her out in the sun, Gavin likes to pull out his blanket & join in. He's also doing a lot of PRETENDING that he's a baby. Looks like a pretty sweet gig, I suppose!
When she was 7 days old, Darin, Gavin & my dad left town for Utah. Ron flew into LV to drive up with them. They drove Tuesday & spent the night with Darin's parents in Delta, then on Wednesday, drove into Orem. Darin & Ron had a meeting with Deseret Book, Gavin got to spend the day with Tessa, and my Dad went to his Uncle Dale's funeral in Provo, meeting up with his sister Vickie and his Dad. My mom and I had a quiet day with Ellie... just the girls! She did a little of this and a little of that:
At 8 days old, she lost her umbilical cord, and got her first bath. She liked having warm water on her, but if it didn't keep coming fast enough, she let us know! Can't say I blame her...
She also had her second outing ever to Patty & Vance's house (it was also Patty's birthday & my mom brought her a cake with fudge frosting, of course). Ellie met her YOUNGER cousin (by one day), Clark. He already outweighs her, since birth, and hopefully it will stay that way. :) Darin, Gavin & my dad returned home that night.
At 9 days old, her Grandma & Grandpa Bishop came to meet her for the first time & spent the afternoon on their way back to Tucson for the winter/spring. We had a good visit.
Days 10 & 11 were much the same... eating, sleeping, being cute. Although both nights she slept nearly 6 hours straight, which surprised me and made me feel a bit guilty, wondering if I needed to set an alarm & wake her up to eat!?? But the next night she made up for it. She wanted to be awake most of the night off and on, until she finally slept from 4am to about 7am.
Day 12, she and Gavin caught a nap on the couch.
I am cherishing the moments, sometimes sleepless as they may be... I feel so very blessed to have her here and to now have TWO beautiful and healthy children.
