Candy Count Down to the MTC

We thought we'd make it fun to count down the days in April until Mom & Dad had to report to the MTC. Now that it's over, I'm posting them here! We presented them with a basket of 19 individually wrapped packages on April 1st (didn't ever take a picture of that), but inside each one was a treat & a word strip to go along with it. Mom & Dad were sweet to open them in front of us on the specified days--I don't think they ever missed, always letting Gavin help unwrap, and they took the specified days' packages with them when they went out of town--to Tucson and to Utah for the last few days. They shared everything, too! Here's the full count down & a photo sampling of a few:
  1. Mom & Dad, we love you to “Pieces!”...
  2. There are a million “Reeses” why we think you’ll be great missionaries...
  3. You endured the “Stax” of paperwork required to submit your papers and receive your mission call...
  4. With your military & missionary experience, you’re the perfect choice...
  5. You’ll quickly learn the Navy acronyms & not have to say, “Whatchamacallit?”
  6. The two of you together as companions will be pure “Bliss”...
  7. When you get to “Charleston, Chews” your activities wisely...
  8. We’re sure you’ll be “Life Savers” to those Navy guys...
  9. We know you’ll lengthen your “Stride” and go the “Extra” mile...
  10. We’re sure you can handle “Mounds” of work...
  11. There is “Zero” percent chance that you won’t do your best every day...
  12. You’ll maintain an orderly schedule and not get into a time “Crunch”...
  13. You’ll be able to tackle any problems that you face... even the “Whoppers”...
  14. You’ll find “Joy” in the service of others...
  15. You’re sure to “Skor” lots of points with the people whose lives you’ll be touching...
  16. Every day will be like “Pay Day”... and you’ll be paid in BLESSINGS...
  17. Be sure to enjoy some fun activities while you’re there too... take a horse carriage tour in historic downtown Charleston, and maybe go to the “Symphony”...
  18. Don’t forget to make some “Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough” for a traditional treat...
  19. We’ll enjoy reading your blog as you record your experiences, and we’ll “Snicker” at the funny ones...
